Mediterranean Specialities

We offer an exciting selection of authentic Mediterranean specialities, along with some of our own delicious home produced creations.

Use our foods to create your own alfresco extravaganza to share with family and friends.

Garlic bulbs: these are seasonal and we generally source them from France and Spain.

Sweet garlic cloves: marinated in extra virgin olive oil with lemon and Provençal herbs, these crisp, tasty garlic cloves make a great appetiser, or addition to a salad or pasta dish.

Smoked garlic bulbs: we hot smoke our garlic bulbs at home in our smokehouse using oak chippings. Smoked garlic is ideal for use with roasted vegetables and meats, or in salads.

Salted capers from France: ideal for use in fish dishes and salads, they can be used as they are without additional seasoning, or soak in cold water for 20 minutes to bring out their full flavour.

Marinated anchovy fillets: also known as boquerones, these natural silver anchovy fillets sourced from Turkey, are in a light sunflower oil and wine vinegar based marinade. They have a rich un-salty flavour and are lovely with crusty bread and a squeeze of lemon.

Giant Bean Salad: made using traditional white giant beans from Greece, in a tomato sauce with a kick of chilli, spring onions and parsley. This tasty salad can be served hot or cold.

Pesto: top quality classic basil sauce, rich with Parmesan and Pecorino cheeses. It is wonderful with pasta, fish and chicken dishes, on potato gnocchi and in vegetable soups, or tossed in the pan with freshly steamed vegetables.

Italian sun dried tomato paste: thick paste of sun-dried tomatoes with extra virgin olive oil – ideal for use in sauces or on pizzas.

Harissa: fiery authentic North African chilli paste traditionally used as a condiment, it can be stirred into yogurt and used as a dip, or a marinade for chicken. It can also be used to add a kick to tagines, or couscous dishes.

Hummus: our original hummus has plenty of flavour. We make it traditionally with freshly cooked chickpeas, extra virgin olive oil, tahini, lemon juice and fresh garlic with a hint of sweet paprika.

Beetroot hummus: rich and tasty, our recipe consists of roasted beetroot and walnuts, with chickpeas, cumin, tahini and fresh garlic.

Garlic has long been associated with a healthy Mediterranean diet. Its health giving properties have been shown to boost the immune system and promote cardiovascular health by helping to maintain levels of good cholesterol.

Traditionally, hummus is never eaten cold, more often it is served hot, or otherwise at room temperature. It goes well with warm crusty bread and a drizzle of olive oil.
